Bison Fund - (Please note, there are deadlines for application)

What is the Bison Fund?

Founded in 1995, the BISON Children’s Scholarship Fund is a privately funded tuition assistance program for low-income elementary school children. BISON’s mission is to provide low-income parents a full range of choices for their children’s education. Families awarded a BISON grant are able to enroll their child in a private school of their choice in any of the 8 counties of Western New York.

How the Bison Fund works

Bison Fund scholarships are a

warded first-come first-served on the basis of financial need. It is BISON’s goal to assist families through the full nine years of grammar school (including grandfathering in younger siblings).

Every family is required to pay a portion (at least $500) of the tuition each year. The parental contribution is a vital element in the success of the program, as families who must invest their own money for tuition have a stronger stake in their child’s education.
